Modeling agent pleads guilty to sex assault

BRIDGEPORT — Former modeling agency owner Michael Britt accused of sexually assaulting three Norwalk teen models pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges.Britt pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Richard Comerford Jr. to one count of second-degree sexual assault. The judge said he would consider giving Britt a 3-year prison term at sentencing on Aug. 3. Senior Asst. State’s Attorney Cornelius Kelly told the judge that the victims had been reluctant to testify against Britt in court. Britt, 43, who owned Model World Enterprises on Main Street, was charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

According to published reports, police accused Britt of sexually assaulting the three girls — aged 18, 17 and 14 — in March and April 2005 after recruiting them to be models. The 14-year-old, who was pregnant when she met Britt, told police Britt took her into an abortion clinic, which was below his agency, and had sex with her claiming he was applying a cream that would cause her to have an abortion. The 18-year-old said Britt had sex with her to ensure she walked correctly and to give her a “special glow.” And police said the 17-year-old told them Britt threw her down on a couch, kissed her and tried to get her clothes off. The teen said Britt took her downstairs to the clinic, where he told her he was a prince and wanted to marry her so that they could have a child and he could get his inheritance.
